A Statistical Evaluation of Thin Slice Size

چکیده
Program slicing is a technique which supports program comprehension. Program slicing extracts all statements — called a program slice — that may affect a certain statement. However, program slicing is not useful if an analysis target program is too large since program slices of such a program are also often too large. Thin slicing is a technique reducing the size of program slice by extracting only statements producing data which is used by a selected statement. However, the size of Thin Slice in general has not been revealed. In this paper, we computed Thin Slices for every data-flow path in 7 Java programs, and then performed statistical evaluation. As a result, the average size of Thin Slice is 2.1% of a program. Furthermore, 60 to 80% of Thin Slices are 0.1% or less.

Thin slice three dimentional (3D) reconstruction versus CT 3D reconstruction of human breast cancer
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES With improvement in the early diagnosis of breast cancer, breast conserving therapy (BCT) is being increasingly used. Precise preoperative evaluation of the incision margin is, therefore, very important. Utilizing three dimentional (3D) images in a preoperative evaluation for breast conserving surgery has considerable significance, but the currently 3D CT scan reconstruc...

Background: This study assessed the application value of 64-slice spiral computed tomography angiography (CTA) in a follow-up evaluation of patients receiving coronary stent implantation. Materials and Methods: A total of 468 patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) at our hospital between January 2013 and October 2016 were selected for this study. Coronary angiography an...

ABTRACT Background: In nuclear medicine, phantoms are mainly used to evaluate the overall performance of the imaging systems and practically there is no phantom exclusively designed for the evaluation of the software performance. In this study the Hoffman brain phantom was used for quantitative evaluation of reconstruction techniques. The phantom is modified to acquire t...

متن کاملThin slice ratings of client characteristics in intake assessments: predicting symptom change and dropout in cognitive therapy for depression.
Thin slice ratings of personality have been shown to predict a number of outcomes, but have yet to be examined in the context of psychotherapy. In a sample of 66 clients participating in cognitive therapy for depression, we examined the predictive utility of thin slice rated pre-treatment client traits. On the basis of short video clip excerpts (i.e., thin slices) of intake assessments, trained...
